location by following the simple instructions provided below.
How To Fix Paper Jam HP Printer
When a paper gets jammed in your HP printer, avoid pulling it out as this can cause
damage to your printer. Instead, you can fix the paper jam on HP printer by
following the below steps:
External Paper Jam:
● Look at the areas of your paper tray through which the paper enters and exits,
and try to pull out the paper slowly. Press the ‘Resume’ button to check whether
the issue resolved successfully.
● In case the paper is still stuck, open the ADF cover and take out the jammed
paper.
● If the problem continues, this is possibly an internal paper jam. Please follow the
steps given below on how to clear a paper jam in the hp printer internally.
Internal Paper Jam:
The first step is to switch off your printer and remove the power cord from the socket. It
is vital to protect yourself from getting an electrical shock while you are operating the
HP Printer from inside.
Situation #1: When the paper's stuck inside the ink toner area
Open the access area of the ink toner cartridge and try to remove the paper. You can also
move the cartridge for better accessibility. For few Laserjet printers, you can only access
the paper by taking out the toner cartridge or imaging drum.
Situation #2: When the paper's stuck inside the paper path cover
When the paper gets stuck under the path cover, fix paper jams on the HP printer
by removing the cover and then taking out the jammed paper slowly.
Situation #3: When the paper's stuck in the input tray
Pull out the printer's input tray and then remove the jammed paper slowly.
Situation #4: When the paper's stuck in the bottom cleaning door
Few HP printers have a bottom cleaning door that is under the printer. Carefully lift
your printer, and if you see any jammed paper, pull it out slowly from the bottom door.
Situation #5: When the paper's stuck in the rear access door
Remove the rear access door of your printer and carefully pull out the stuck paper. Any
tiny bits of paper that remain should be cleared out as well. Replace the door once you
are finished.
Once the paper is out successfully, you need to replace all the parts of the printer which
you had taken out earlier. The power cord needs to be connected back to the socket.
Then switch on the printer.
However, if even after following the steps mentioned above, the paper jam continues,
you need to call HP's customer support so that they can send an executive to help fix the
issue.
It's not advisable to take matters in your hands further as it can damage your printer.
