When you take photographs from your Nikon D700, the images are stored in a compact
flash card. But sometimes, your camera fails to recognize the memory card, which
means it is corrupted and needs to be formatted. You might also want to format the
memory card if you wish to delete all the pictures stored on the memory card. To learn
#1. Insert the memory card you want to format in your Nikon D700 camera. Ensure the
camera is turned off while you insert the memory card.
#2. Switch on your camera and press and hold the Trash and Mode buttons
simultaneously for 2 seconds. These two buttons, when pressed and held together,
format the card. The word "For" should start flashing in the shutter speed section of the
control panel as well as the viewfinder.
#3. Again, press and hold the above two buttons together to delete the pictures. Do not
switch off your camera while the memory card is formatting.
#4. Alternatively, go to your camera's Setup menu and press the Format memory card
button there and press OK. This step will immediately format your memory card.
