How To Recover Your Gmail Account

Have you recently lost access to your Gmail account?

Losing access to your Gmail account can be frightening. From confidential work emails
to personal information, your Gmail account holds a lot of sensitive data. There can be
many reasons behind your loss of access; however, there is no need to be alarmed.

Recovery Guide

There are two ways to Recover Gmail Password.

#1. If you added your mobile number in your Gmail account initially, then Gmail will
send you a verification code on your phone number to confirm your identity. You can
then use this code to set your new password.

#2. If you had included a secondary email in your Gmail account, then Gmail will send
you a password recovery link on your secondary email. You can then use this link to
reset your password.

How To Recover Your Gmail Account?

If you have lost or forgotten your Gmail password, you can recover the Gmail
account in three ways.

You must either have access to your recovery alternate email ID or your registered
phone number. Else, Google will ask you to answer some security questions.

However, if you don't have a phone number registered with Google, the Gmail
account recovery can be performed by following the given steps:

#1. Open the login page.
#2. Type the Gmail address you want to recover. Alternatively, go to the Gmail account
recovery center, enter your Gmail address, and click “Next."
#3. On the next screen, select the "I forgot my password..." option.
#4. Click "Next" and re-enter your complete Gmail ID.
#5. On the next page, Google will ask you to choose from various options. Select the "To
get verification code by recovery email address" option and click “Next.”
#6. Type your alternate recovery email ID and click “Send.”
#7. A recovery code will now be sent to your recovery email, which you can use to set a
new password for your Gmail account.

If you do not have any alternate email ID or phone number registered with Google,
you must click, "I have none of these."

You will be redirected to a form in which you have to provide information about your
account. It includes questions such as your complete name, date of birth, security
question's answer, last remembered password, city, etc.

You will regain access to your Gmail account if all the provided information is found to
be correct.

How To Recover Your Emails From Your Gmail Account

Sometimes, you delete an important email by accidentally clicking the wrong button.
There’s no need to panic when you realize that you’ve deleted an important email.
Follow the given methods to recover a deleted email:

Method #1 Check The Trash Section:
Email services store emails in the Trash for varying periods. Gmail stores deleted emails
in the trash folder for 30 days, before permanently deleting them. If you’ve deleted that
email fairly recently, chances are it’s still in the Trash section.

Method #2 Search Your Inbox:
If your inbox is crowded, there's a good chance the email is lost in the shuffle. Use the
search box to look for the lost email.

Method #3 Check Any Folders Or Labels You've Created:
Gmail allows you to organize your mail by placing them in folders or filing them under
custom labels. Check the different folders for your missing email.

Method #4 Contact The Gmail Support Team:
If you can't find your mail in the inbox or the Trash folder, you probably have cleared
your Trash folder or accidentally permanently deleted the mail by using the “Delete
Forever” option.

If this is the case, request the Google Support team for help. There are still chances of
recovering your emails.

To do this, go to the missing email page of Gmail. Here you will need to fill out some
essential details in a form including a description of the problem you are facing. A Gmail
Support executive will then help to recover your lost email.
