“When we tried to access QuickBooks company data file in the old or previous version of QuickBooks application, which was updated in the newer version of QuickBooks, we encountered an error with following code: QuickBooks Error -6135, -1005”

One of the reasons for this error can be hosting for file has been lost, If this file has been used on multi user mode on multiple computers with multiple users.
Steps to fix issue:-
• Ensure we have opened company file in newest version of QuickBooks on which file was opened last time.
Go to File > Open or Restore company > Open company file > Browse for file and open it.
• Try to restart computer which contains company file, if file being used on stand along/server computer then restart computer and try to access data file.
• If file is used over network via server then the Re-Scan data base server manager. You have to go to main computer from where file is being hosted.
Go to Start > All Programs > QuickBooks > QuickBooks Database Server Manager > Add folder which contains company file and click on start scan.
Wait for confirmation “QuickBooks company file found”.
Now try opening company file again.
